This is the oldest legible Brattle tomb I found at Wateringbury, and likewise
the earliest (yet known) Robert
Brattle who was a miller. The mill was later known as Brattle Mill (or Upper
Mill) and continued to be used as a corn mill until about 1910 (see
Wikipedia)
Note that the word "Thomas" in the final line is not clear and may not be the
correct interpretation.
