THE ABOVE JOHN HENDERSON,
DIED JUNE 30TH 1873, AGED 70 YEARS.
THE WINTER OF TROUBLE IS PAST
THE STORMS OF AFFLICTION ARE OER,
HIS STRUGGLE IS ENDED AT LAST
AND SORROW AND DEATH ARE NO MORE.
THE ABOVE ELIZABETH HENDERSON
DIED DECR 30TH 1878, AGED 75 YEARS
HER END WAS PEACE.

John Henderson, the
son of John Henderson and
Ann Robson, was born
about 1803 at Lanchester, Co Durham. He married
Elizabeth Kirtley on 27th
August 1832. Elizabeth was born on 25th August 1803 at Tanfield, Co
Durham, the daughter of Henry
Kirtley and Margaret Pace.
Henry Henderson was
the third child and eldest son of John and Elizabeth. Their second son,
born about 1839, was also named Henry. Two more children followed,
John Robson in 1841 and
Isabella about 1844,
before Joseph Kirtley
Henderson, who was born in 1845.
