John Perkins was baptised at Desborough on 1st Feb 1801, the second child of William Perkins and his wife Rebecca. John was a tailor and later also a draper and post master at Desborough.

He married Elizabeth Yeomans of Desborough. She was baptised on 10th Apr 1804, the fourth child of Joseph Yeomans and Rebecca Moore.

Elizabeth and John had four (known) children. The second, Rebecca, married Charles Clarke of Desborough. They had at least seven children, including Eliza Ann. At some time after the 1861 census and before the 1871 census, the Clarke family moved to Lincoln.

Naomi was the youngest child of John and Elizabeth Perkins. She was born on 24th Apr 1828 and baptised on 18th May  at the Wesleyan Chapel. She married Thomas Ginns, another Desborough man, in 1852
