Janet Morris, nee Frazer was born in Warmfield cum Heath, Yorkshire about 1843. She was the daughter of a Scot William Frazer and Yorkshire lass Hannah, surname not known. The family had moved to Desborough by the 1861 census.

Charles Morris was born in Desborough in about 1847, the son of Charles Morris and Susannah Crick.

The couple married in 1869. They had 9 (known) children and at least 25 grandchildren. Of their 13 grandsons of military age 6 were killed serving in the Great War.

Clifford Coe had enlisted in 1915, lying about his age, and was dismissed after a few months when the lie was found out. His later service record is missing, so it is not known when he re-enlisted. Clifford's elder brother Walter served in a non-combatant unit set up for conscientious objectors.
