Removal Order 14th October 1775
from Wokingham, Berkshire, to Desborough

Town of Wokingham in the County of Berks (to wit)

To the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the town of Wokingham in the County of Berks and to the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Desborough in the County of Northampton and to each and every of them.

UPON the complaint of the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the town of Wokingham in the County of Berks unto us whose Names are hereunto set and Seals affixed, being two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said town of Wokingham and one of us of the Quorum, that Elizabeth Yeamans Widow of Thomas Yeamans deceased and her four Children by the said Thomas Yeamans Viz: Lydia of the age of Eleven years and upwards, Anne of the age of Six Years and upwards, Charlotte of the age of two years and upwards and Thomas of the age of ten weeks did lately come to inhabit in the said town of Wokingham not having gained a legal Settlement there, nor produced any Certificate owning them to be settled elsewhere, and that the said Elizabeth Yeamans and her said four Children are now become chargeable to the said Town of Wokingham.

We, the said Justices upon due Proof made here of, as well upon the Examination of the said Elizabeth Yeamans upon Oath, as otherwise, and likewise upon due Consideration had of the Premises do adjudge the same to be true; and we do likewise adjudge, that the lawful Settlement of them the said Elizabeth Yeamans and her said four Children is in the said parish of Daisborough in the said County of Northampton.

We do therefore require you the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said town of Wokingham or some, or one of you, to convey the said Elizabeth Yeamans and her said four Children from and out of your said town of Wokingham to the said parish of Daisborough and them to deliver to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or to some, or one of them, together with this our Order, or a true Copy thereof: And we do also hereby direct you the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said parish of Daisborough to receive and provide for them as Inhabitants of your parish

Given under our Hands and Seals the 14th Day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy five.
