Removal Order 22nd Feb 1825
from Desborough to Earl Shilton, Leicestershire
County of Northampton To Wit.
To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish
or Township of
Desborough in the County of Northampton. And to the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of Earl Shilton in the
County of Leicester
Whereas complaint hath been made by you the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor of the
said Parish or Township of Desborough unto us, whose hands and seals are
hereunto set, two of His Majesty's
Justices of the Peace (whereof one is of the Quorum) in and for the said county of Northampton that
John Page a Poor Boy
hath lately intruded himself into your said Parish or
Township of Desborough there to inhabit as Parishioner contrary
to the Laws relating to the Settlement of the Poor, and has
there become chargeable.
And Whereas upon due examination and inquiry
made intot eh Premises, as well as upon the examination upon
Oath of the Overseer of the Poor taken before us the said
Justices, as otherwise it appears unto us, and we accordingly
adjudge that the said John Page hath become chargeable unto the
said Parish or Township of Earl Shilton and that the last legal
place of settlement of the said John Page is in the said Parish
or Township of Earl Shilton in the said County of Leicester by a
Service under an Indenture to William Shingler
These are in His Majesty's name, to order
and require you the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish or Township of Desborough aforesaid, that you or
some or you, do forthwith remove and convey the said John Page
from your said Parish or Township of Desborough to the said
Parish or Township of Earl Shilton and him deliver to the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or some of them,
together with this Warrant or Order, or a true Copy hereof, and
you the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the
Parish or Township of Earl Shilton are hereby required in His
Majesty's name, and by virtue of the Statutes in such case made,
forthwith to receive the said John Page. into their said Parish
or Township and provide for him as their own Parishioner. Given
under our Hands and Seals this twenty second Day of February in
the Year of our Lord 1825.
