We the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the poor of the Parish of Rowell in the County of Northampton
aforesaid Do hereby Certifie that we do own and Acknowledge Samuell Bates
Ann his Wife and John and Elizabeth his Children to be Inhabitants Legally Settled in our Said
Parish of Rowell And we do hereby promise for our Selves and Successors to Receive them
into our parish whenever they Shall become Chargable unless he or She they or
them or any of them Shall in the Mean time gain a Legal Settlement Else
Where. In Witness hereof
we the Said Church Wardens and Overseers of the poor of the Said Parish of Rowell
have hereunto Respectively Set our hands and Seals this Thirteenth Day of Aprill in
the three and twentieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the
grace of God of great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and
in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty

Desborough in the County of Northampton aforesaid or to any or either of
them
We whose Names are hereunto Subscribed being two of his
Majesty's Justices of the peace for the County of Northampton
aforesaid so allow of this Certificate and do hereby certifie that Joseph Smith one of the Witnesses who Attested the
Execution thereof hath made Oath before Us that he did See the Church-Wardens
and Overseers of the poor Whose Names and Seals are thereunto Subscribed and Set
Severally sign and Seal the Same and that the name of Robert Dexter and of him
the Said Joseph Smith Witnesses Attesting the Said Certificate are of their own
proper hand Writing Witness our hands this thirteenth day of April 1750
