Northampton Shire To Wit:
To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the Parrish of
Desborough in the County of Northampton
Wee the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish of
Kettering in the County of Northampton aforesaid, do Hereby Certify that we
do own and Acknowledge Avary Richards and his Wife Elizabeth and their one
Child Namely Samuel, To be Inhabitants Legally Setled in our Said parish of
Kettering. And we do Hereby Promise for our Selves and Successors to Receive
them into our Said parish whensoever they Shall become Chargable, Unless he
or She they or them or any of them, Shall in the Meantime gain a Legal
Settlement Elsewhere: In Witness hereof we the Said Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor of the Said parish of Kettering have hereunto
Respectively Sett our Hands and Seals this Twentyeth day of November in the
Twenty third year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by
the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the
Faith and So forth and in the year of our Lord 1749

Wee whose Names are hereunto Subscribed Two of his Majestys Justices of the
peace of and for the County of Northampton, do Allow of the above Written
Certificate Dated the Twentyeth day of November and So forth, and we do hereby
Certify that George Smith one of the Wittnesses who attested the Execution of
this Certificate hath made Oath before us that he did See the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor whose Names and Seals are hereunto Subscribed and Sett,
Severally Sign and Seal the Said Certificate and that the Names of the
Wittnesses are of their own proper Hand Writeing
