Kicked by a Horse
4th November 1863
Desborough.—On Wednesday morning, a few minutes after six
o'clock, a little boy named
William Summerly,
of Desborough, (one of
Mr. E. Howard's
ploughboys), was leading a young horse into the stable, when from some
cause the animal, though usually extremely quiet, kicked him in the
head, causing concussion of the brain. The poor boy was immediately
carried home bleeding and insensible, and a man and horse sent off for
Mr. McLoskey, under whose care he lies, and who is sanguine of his
ultimate recovery.
