Auction of Property, 1801

By Mr. BRAMPTON,

On Wednesday the 8th of April, 1801, and following Day, on the Premises of Mr. JOHN TAILBY, of DESBOROUGH, Northamptonshire, (a Bankrupt),

ALL the LIVE and DEAD STOCK, FARMING UTENSILS, HOUSEHOLD-FURNITURE, and sundry other EFFECTS;

CONSISTING OF

One useful Draught Horse and two Mares, one stout Hackney Horse, either for drawing or carrying, and one excellent Road Pony; two stout Narrow-wheel Waggons, three Carts, nearly new, Ploughs, Harrows, Roll, Harness for five Horses, Barn Tackle, and other Implements in Husbandry; also a large Hovel of Oats, a Quantity of Oat Straw, three Quarters and an Half of Oats in the Sacks, and about four Cwt. of Clover Seeds; and upwards of Loads of rich Manure, in Lots.

Six Months Credit will be given for the Croping and Seeds.

The HOUSEHOLD-FURNITURE consists of Bedsteads and Hangings, Feather and Flock Beds, Blankets and Quilts, Bed and Table Linen, Chairs and Tables, Pier and Swing Glasses, Kitchen Requisites in Pewter, Brass and Copper, Kitchen Range and Bath Stove; Brewing Utensils, Iron-bound Casks, Half-hogshead Copper, and sundry other Effects; also Pullies, Beet-trees, Cratch, Butcher's Block, Cleavers, &c. complete for a Butcher.

Also will be sold on Thursday, at the Sign of the Swan, about Seven o'Clock in the Evening, in two Lots,

Lot 1.  A substantial Stone-built FREEHOLD MESSUAGE or TENEMENT, situate in the Centre of the Town of DESBOROUGH, with Farm-Yard, Barns, Stables, Fasting Houses, Butcher's Shop, and other Out-Offices, late in the Occupation of Mr. John Tailby.

Lot 2.  A substantial Stone-built MESSUAGE or TENEMENT, situate in DESBOROUGH aforesaid; consisting of a Dwelling-House and Bakehouse, in full Trade, with Wood Barns, Stables, and other Conveniences; with a very fruitful Orchard, containing about on Acre of Ground; also twenty-two Elm and Ash Trees, which will be sold in Lots.
