George Coe & Frederick Summerling
Breach of the Peace, 1845
George Coe, and Frederick Summerling, were charged by police
constable Jeffs, with a breach of the peace, by fighting in one of the
streets of Desborough. The defendants pleaded guilty, and the character
of Coe being spoken favourably of, he was discharged on playing half the
costs. Summerling, not bearing so good a character, was required to
enter into his own recognizances to keep the peace for twelve months.
