Kettering
James Sumner
& Joseph Dawkins,
of Desborough, were both summoned for neglecting to pay their Poor's
Rate. The latter had paid before he came, but sought to be relieved from
the expenses, which were mitigated, though not entirely taken off. The
former pleaded inability to pay, while the parish authorities thought he
ought not to be exempted. He promised payment.
