Cruelty to Sheep, 31st Oct 1902
Charge against a Drover
Reuben Ginns, drover, Desborough, was summoned for cruelty to sheep
at Kettering, on Oct. 31.
—Inspector Dee deposed to seeing defendant repeatedly strike the
sheep across the head with an ash stick, completely stunning the animal.
—P.C. Inns corroborated, and defendant was fined £1 and 6s.
costs, the Chairman stating that it was a common thing for drovers to
act with excessive cruelty towards animals in the Cattle Market.
