to select the individual Districts from the links below. The information that follows each link is transcribed
from the census "Description of Enumeration District". The District number relates to its position in the
Registration District (Kettering) and Registration Sub-District (Rothwell). The enumerators were all local
men. The links on their names take you to their descendent trees.
So that you don't lose the benefits of seeing households in context with their neighbours, the first few
households of district 2 will be shown at the end of district 1 and the beginning of district 3
will be shown at the end of district 2.

Desborough to Market Harborough.
Contents, Comprising all the Houses situate on West side of said road including Buckwell

Boundary, Being that part of Desborough situate on the East side of the Turnpike Road
leading from Desborough to Market Harborough as far as Birds Corner and the South side of
Station Road to the end of the New Estate.
Contents, Comprising all the Houses on East Side of Turnpike Road to Birds Corner including
Church Street Paddock Lane School Lane all the Houses on the South side of Station Road
including King Street, Queen Street, Regent Street, Victoria Street, Union Street, Compton
Street, also Water Mill and Cottages belonging to Stanton Gate Company.

Boundary, Being the remaining Part of the Parish of Desborough on the east side of the
Turnpike Road, leading from Desborough to Market Harborough, from the George Inn corner to
Railway Bridge and the north side of Station Road as far as Station.
Contents, All the Houses on East side of Turnpike Road from the George Inn corner to
Railway Bridge, including the New Inn and cottages adjoining, All the Houses on north side of
Station Road, including New Street, Gas Street, Factory Street, Station Street, Nichols
Street. Also Sherrats Lodge, Curtis Lodge, Keepers Lodge, & Station. (Also a Labourers Lodge
north of Keepers Lodge called Loakes Lodge).
