This Company had just moved to a New Camp Site near Gouzecourt. Pioneer
Davies was assisting to unload a steam wagon when an explosion occurred and
upon investigation was found to have been caused by an enemy nosecap. |

(a) Yes.
(b) Yes. This man was batman to Lieutenant Lloyd. When he picked up his
master's kit Pioneer Davies from his own statement included some nose-caps
which he had picked up because he thought they might be useful. Lieutenant
Lloyd states this was done without his authority. The result was an
explosion from which one man died and himself and another man injured. I
consider Pioneer Davies should be tried by Court Martial.
